All About Me

Welcome to my Blog and Thank you for visiting!

My name is Jen Schneider. My passion is teaching, my family, and our hobby farm. I've been teaching for 8 years and love every minute of it. My husband, Andy, and I just had our first child, Caleb, our pride and joy! When Caleb arrived, we decided to follow our dreams and move out of the city and into the country to raise our child. We have an acre garden that produces so much that we had to buy 3 freezers to store it all and I'm not sure that's going to be enough! I'm excited about sharing all the great resources and ideas that I have created over the years. I believe that collaboration and sharing build a community of effective teachers.

My educational experiences began during college where I assisted in a Georgia Pre-K classroom for 2 years. I graduated North Georgia College and State University with a dual major in Early Childhood Education and Special Education as well as a Reading Endorsement. I graduated Piedmont college with both my Masters and Specialists degrees in Curriculum and Design. I have 7 years of experience working in a Title I Distinguished School of Excellence teaching kindergarten where I was awarded the honor of Teacher of the Year in 2007. Recently, I have moved to a Title I Virtual School setting where I have taught 2nd grade for 1 year. I also hosted the Teacher Talk Radio show where teachers joined together to collaborate with experts.

My teaching style is student driven. My goal is to find out what the student needs and use differentiated, engaging, and effective strategies to facilitate reaching mastery levels. I want to  make learning fun so students will love to learn!

As a blogger, I love to share ideas, great products that I use in my classroom, FREEBIES that you'll love, and More! I hope you gain something from the content in this blog. I love hearing from my readers. You are welcome to post comments or email me anytime. jlschneider80@gmail.com
